5 things You Need To Start Blogging
How about starting a blog?
This is the question I asked to myself when I was thinking
about something to do online that somehow matches my skills and in the future
if I can also earn from that as well. Blogging was the first thing that came to my mind,
so I started working on that and gathered all the necessary information to
start a blog.
Starting a blog for the first time is an incredible thing but trust me, it's not an easy task. Nowadays anyone can create a blog in a few
simple without investing money. Blogging is an amazing marketing tool and
can become a great source of income if you take a lot of time. However, if you
want to create a successful and profitable blog, you must put yourself on the
right track and be open to accept challenges.
Here are the 5 most basic but important things you should
keep in mind before starting a blog.
1. Domain name
2. Web hosting
3. Blog platform.
4. Content
5. Generating traffic.
Let's go deep down to discuss these points further.
1. Domain name
Make sure your domain name is unique, as it is the way
people identify you, your name should be something individual for you that will
not easily be confused with a competitor or existing site.
Make your domain easy to remember. Short and unique is very
important here: use the least amount of letters and words that make sense and
are plausible.
Always remember that numbers and punctuation often confuse
visitors unless they are a real part of your name (for example, 123cuba),
therefore, as a general practice, try to avoid them.
Your domain name should be relevant to your business and
give prospective visitors an idea of what product you are offering.
If you take your preferred domain name, try to find an
alternative, do not go to the backup extension, such as .net or .biz. .Com
continues to be the preferred extension for consumers if you use an alternative
extension, you can lose potential customers.
2. Web hosting
Web hosting is also very important because it is what gives life to your domain and blog.
And the important thing here is the loading time that can
affect the conversion rates and can also affect the ranking of your search
engine.
Make sure you know your provider's up-time record: the
downtime loses the business your site will not have much; nothing less than 99%
up-time is unacceptable and do not do it.
3. Blog platform
There are a lot of blog platforms (and most are free), but
before entering some of the different providers, it is important to keep in
mind that a blogging platform is different from hosting.
Although some blogging platforms also serve as hosts, others, such as WordPress, can also function as a way to develop and edit your blog, although you can host it as a self-hosted blog.
4. Content
Make sure your blogs have great content. It must be original, attractive and must be valuable to its readers. If you write high quality content, the search engines will automatically pick it up and explode in popularity on social networks.
As we all know, "content is king", dedicate your
quality time to research before writing a blog and if you are new to writing.
5. Generating traffic
So, you have a blog, but there is not much traffic. What would you do now?
Traffic is the most important factor to keep your blog
alive. If you do not have traffic, you do not have the purpose of your writing.
This may not be a big problem for amateur bloggers, but for
professionals who do blogging to find new businesses they need to spend some
time to get traffic from their site.
For bloggers who use their blog to earn an income, lack of
traffic means a lack of revenue: without traffic, ads do not show or receive
clicks, which not only affects the immediate result, but also reduces the
future earnings of the blog by reducing your advertising costs. .
So, how to gain traffic? Marketing - and as a blogger, it is
important to understand how web marketing works, especially SEO.
Here are some ways that can help you get traffic on your
website.
